Probio7 Life Yogurt Making Kit

Consuming fermented foods on a regular basis has been shown to support good gut health. One of the ways to do this is to consume live yogurt.
However, with store-bought yogurts, there’s no guarantee that the bacteria are alive, at a therapeutic dosage, or whether the strains are beneficial for health.
This is why we created Probio7 Life yogurt.
Each Probio7 Happy Gut bacterial sachet contains three strains of friendly bacteria, including one of the worlds most researched strains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. We worked with the Technical University of Munich to verify the therapeutic dose. Each serving delivers 6 billion clinically researched bacteria to your gut alive.
We even wanted to make sure that the UHT milk provided in the kit has added benefits to health, which is when we found Jersey UHT milk. Jersey milk boasts:
- More calcium and protein than other breeds
- Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants
- More potassium than a banana
- As Jersey milk contains predominately A2 protein, it is easier to digest than milk from other breeds.
Plus, Jersey milk creates the creamiest delicious yogurt!

Frequently Asked Questions
About Probio7 Life Yogurt Making Kit
My yogurt looks lumpy/curdled, what happened?
Sometimes over culturing (too long or too warm) can cause the yogurt to curdle or become lumpy before it separates fully. To make a smooth consistency, simply whisk it. (Remove some of the whey if you like, or stir it back in.)

What's in Probio7 Happy Gut bacterial starter?
The function of yoghurt starter bacteria is to ferment lactose (milk sugar) to produce lactic acid, which creates the yogurt consistency. This fermentation also produces the flavour of the homemade yoghurt. The main starter bacteria in yogurt are Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus.
Unlike other yoghurt starter bacteria, Probio7 Happy Gut also contains three clinically researched strains to help support your gut health. One of these is Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, one of the world's most researched strains.
It can also be unclear whether you are receiving enough of the friendly bacteria to make a difference.
Unlike store-bought live yogurts, we worked with the Technical Institute in Much to ensure starter to ensure each 125ml serving contains 6 billion friendly bacteria, proven to reach your gut alive.

Can I use leftover yogurt as a starter for a new batch?
Your bacterial sachet contains the yogurt starter which breaks down the lactose in the milk, changing the texture and taste of the milk to create yogurt. This has been paired with 3 clinically researched strains of friendly bacteria that help support your gut health. We worked with the Technical University of Munich to ensure you receive a therapeutic dose of friendly bacteria in each serving. 125ml of yogurt provides 6 billion bacteria.
If you use leftover yogurt instead of the bacterial sachet to make yogurt, it means you will be lowering the concentration of bacteria and you won’t be receiving a therapeutic dose of the bacteria. This is why we recommend using a new sachet each time.
What about sustainability?
Our yoghurt making kit comes with everything you need to make yoghurt from day one.
Each element of the yoghurt making kit has been designed with sustainability in mind.
Single-use plastics
In the UK we create 5 tonnes of plastic waste, and only 10% is recycled. At this rate, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish!
Using the ceramic pots that come with your kit to both make and then store your yogurt will cut down on single-use plastics when you buy yogurt from a store
Jersey Cows
Jersey cows create a nutritionally superior milk compared to other breeds. But did you know they also have a lower ecological footprint?
They are far more efficient at digesting their food. They require 30% less feed and create 30% less waste!
Tetra Pak
We have chosen Tetra Pak cartons for our milk. Not only are they 100% recyclable, they require less energy to produce than glass or plastic bottles.

Can I use a different milk?
We recommend Holland Jersey UHT whole milk to make yoghurt, as it's both nutritionally superior and creates a delicious creamy homemade yoghurt.
However, other UHT milks can be used to make yoghurt. If using chilled fresh milk, for the best, most consistent results we recommend first heating the milk to the boiling point. Heating the milk makes for a richer end product.
If you would like to use a plant based milk, we have tested a number and recommend soya milk, though natural thickeners may be required.
